I think the best way to level your first character is to treat the game like Skyrim: explore new areas, and try out different traits and utility skills. This isn't like other games where leveling is fetch-quest after fetch-quest to get to endgame. In this case please put the time in to watch guides and really read your skill descriptions. After the inception the boost we have a large quantity of players that never learn the game due to information overload. Guild wars 2 is a multifaceted game that is hard to learn if you do not ingest information at a natural leveling pace. While level 80 might look a long way away at 25, leveling in GW2 is linear in that each level (past 15) takes roughly as long as any other, so 79 to 80 isn't longer than 25 to 26.
